Re: Community not thrilled with city.
I read this article and followed the hunt for a new administrator, but who knows what an administrator does, besides those working for the city or those who have to deal with city administrative matters?
Notice of the meeting may not have been specific as to the importance of an administrator or what they do in general. Anyone can correct me who lives in Faribault and aren’t caught up in the politics of the city, but the people of Faribault want our elected officials to get and keep their priorities straight as to the needs of a city like public safety, safer intersections and streets. Not wasting our time and money on issues like building color when the community can handle that without city interference.
Don’t get me wrong, the city where I was born and raised in, prior to moving to Faribault, decided not to preserve the fine history of downtown, and I missed the charm and memories the original buildings brought. However, Faribault is a small town with people of common sense and a sense of partnership not always in need of government butting in.
I ask the elected officials of Faribault, what is a community and who is considered a part of the community? Someone picked from City Council members? No one asked my opinion.
