Helen M. Smisek
Helen M. Smisek (nee Jirik), age 93 of Lonsdale, passed away July 27, 2010, in Northfield.
Helen was married to Joe B. Smisek on Aug. 31, 1938, in Lonsdale. Helen was a member of the St. Ludmilla Society, CCW, Catholic Workman, Lonsdale Seniors “Golden Agers” and a charter member of the Lonsdale American Legion Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Smisek; grandsons, Tommy and Dennis Smisek; brothers, Joe T., George, Ray and Frank Jirik; sister-in-law, Stella Jirik; sister, Rose Skluzacek; brothers-in-law, Val Skluzacek and Emil Tuma.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Don (Molly), Larry (Mary Ann), Kathy and ‘Bernie’ (Betty) Smisek; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; also by siblings, Sr. Emeria Jirik SSND, John (Eleanor) Jirik, Sr. Paulissa Jirik SSND and Sr. Rita Jirik SSND; sisters-in-law, Marion, Inez and Jean Jirik and Emma Tuma. Also by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale, Minn., with visitation on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, 201 Fifth Ave. (MN Hwy. 19), Lonsdale, Minn., also one hour prior to Mass at the funeral Home. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale. |
