How poverty-stricken is Rice County?
Poverty in Rice County is an issue. As the economy rebounds, statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau show poverty in 2008 at 9.2 percent for Rice County compared to 9.6 statewide and 13.2 nationwide. Read about the poverty level in Saturday's Faribault Daily News.

NEWSPAPER DELIVERY

To start a subscription to the Faribault Daily News, call 333-3111, 24 hours a day. Ask for EZ Pay — a money- and time-saving way to pay for your subscription. Through monthly automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account or applied to your credit card, you pay only $11.50 per month for carrier or $12.50 per month for motor route delivery.
Prepaid delivery by carrier is $39.00 for twelve weeks. Motor route delivery is $42.50 for twelve weeks. Rice county mail subscriptions are $44.50 for twelve weeks, and all other mail zones are $48.00 for twelve weeks.
If you do not receive your paper by 6:00 am Tuesday through Friday or 7:00 on the weekend, call 333-3111 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The newspaper is a lot like the city of faribault. Silence is golden or ignore them and they will go away.

Hey, Dinger! We found out, this morning> Agliata is, apparently gone. I wondered what was going on, myself. It was as if he had dropped off the face of the earth for about the last two weeks. Maybe he wanted it that way (new job? - although he certainly protested about how much he loved Faribault); or maybe it was a deal with the ownership to have him do a "fade-out," without any warning/notice.
